About
Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has established a “Business Incubation Centre” (BIC) in Jan 2023 with the initial support and a grant from the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The primary objective of the BIC is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students, researchers, faculty members, and alumni, encouraging them to create new enterprises and contribute to the overall strengthening and development of the innovation ecosystem. By providing guidance and support to young and budding entrepreneurs, the FJWU-BIC aims to act as a catalyst for economic development, employment generation, and technology commercialization. The ultimate goal of the FJWU-BIC is to nurture successful firms that will eventually become financially viable and independent.
The FJWU-BIC will offer a range of targeted resources and services to support new and startup companies during their initial development stages. These services, either developed or arranged by the business incubator, will be directly provided or facilitated through its network of contacts. Graduates of the FJWU-BIC program have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and contribute to the growth of local and national economies. By shifting the focus from creating job seekers to job providers, our aim is to empower girls to become drivers of employment opportunities. The integration of students, entrepreneurs, and universities is a key aspect of the FJWU-BIC, as business incubators tied to academic institutions have the greatest impact on the economy.
